We finally reconvened at Wendy's for a mid-summer night's dream of a meeting.
Attendees: Ivan, Wendy, Catherine, Casey, Lisa, BillA, William, Christine, Mitchell, Michael, Cotton, Rob, ?
News:
October 5, 12, 19: Puente Grant Writing lessons/workshop $45 October 19: CERT/Ham radio 'simulated emergency test' with possible focus on Pescadero and surrounds. We are invited to play with our radios.
Discussion:
Bill A has taken updated maps to fire station and they are going to put them in the trucks! very good work Bill.
Siren protocol is old and wrong. A better one is in the Wiki. Wendy has done some edits, we should redistribute at the Annual Meeting. The central idea now is "turn on your radio, and NCs go to see what's happing at the siren point." It is not "EVERYONE GO TO THE POOL".
SET drill - Lisa points out that the Fire Guys really don't want a lot of people trying to direct traffic along the road into the park if they are coming in at 50 miles an hour. They want as small a chain of people as possible. We talk and decide - 1 at Cloverdale, 1 at the Camp, and 1 at the Pool.
Next Radio Check - we decide to carry on with our Big Radio Drill #1 anyway, for a number of good reasons. Plannign discussion followed. We used a neat schematic style map cooked up by Christine and William. ( PUT LINK TO DRILL PAGE HERE )
- casey to put up signs for the general population
- Catherine is Net Control, Mitchell is her #2 / Documenter
- we will check in and then go to the various relay spots
- Casey to programm the unprogrammed new radios ( again, a set donated to the community by William and Christine ) and get them to
- rob
- cotton
- william
- christine
- casey to make simple cheat cards for the radios
Southern Neighbors. we decide not to roll them directly into BCERT, but to coordinate a meeting with ourselvs and the other area emergency folks to provide an orgizational template for them to start off with.
